Featured Please help to identify value, age and origin of this hanging globe light

Help Please! Requesting any info on this large hanging globe light, lantern or chandelier. Not sure what to name it.
I came across it in my mother's attic after her passing.
It has been nicely packed & stored in a large crate box for many years.
It is 39 inches in diameter & 17 inches in height.
It has colored glass stones & opens in the middle.
It also has 3 chains attached to one ring for hanging.
The cloth wiring still works. It has a pull chain, and the bulb socket has the words "Bryant 250W, 250V Pat'd Nov 26 1907' on it. It is very heavy 20+ pounds,
I have been unsuccessful in finding a comparison on the internet. I'm hoping someone may have knowledge as to the age, metal, origin & worth if any.
I have always enjoyed searching for information on anything antique, however finding any information on this light has been discouraging. I would greatly appreciate "any" info & thoughts on it.

 

Looks like something out of Captain Nemo's Nautilus.

 

Very similar lamp. I have no idea what Belchers School is. Someone else will probably be able to define that. I can't vouch for the seller's description, but all the multiple board members here should be able to work it out.

That date on the fitting is helpful, isn’t it!

I’d have said Edwardian anyhow, and in the Moroccan style. It’s lovely quality, someone bevelled that glass.

I just reread your description. I need to clarify, is the diameter of the ball actually 39 inches, or do you mean circumference?
If it is actually 39 inches in diameter, that would be huge! Wider than a yardstick.

I don't know how big an antique 250 watt bulb is.
EDIT: PS... Never mind. I have no idea if that's an original bulb or not. And I don't think it is.

 

That is definitely one of the more amazing light fixtures I've seen.Definitely Aesthetic Nemo S. Punk.I would've attempted to bid on it before my wise significant other pulled the plug !

Agree w/ Johnny-It's amazing & I think (?) rare,mostly they seem to have done windows.

 

I think the seller on 1st dibs meant it is "in the style of" or "the manner of" Belcher Studio, not made by them.

Well, I am poking around the internet specifically looking for jeweled lamps with those portholes. Lots of pierced brass Moroccan jeweled lamps to be found. This style is harder to find.

I think the only way to find out who made these is to find old catalogs, newspaper or magazine ads. Surely someone in this whole wide world has those posted on the internet.

Sounds like a job for a Victorian Lighting Expert (or whole group of them) in an online chat like this one.Any info at all on the crate your Mom stored this in ?
PS-There's some very specific specialist Forums online.I found a group that collects & studies 18th & 19th Cent Lighters (incl an 1869 Electric Ignition Cigar Lighter I have),like Laura said-there's someone out there who knows & has posted it.

 

That reminds me! @TallCakes once posted a link to an antique lighting site that had catalog pages while trying to identify glass inserts that fit into a chandelier or wall sconces.
