Help With Artist On Palette Impressionist Painting

If not wrong, those are Thai people with a temple at the background.
That signature is giving me hard time. To me it looks like made up and possibly a mass produced painting but would like to hear more opinions.
The last letters of the siggy are under the frame and hard to take photo of them.

Looking at this makes me think of terms like "impasto" and "palette knife painting." Can't help with the siggie.

 

If the signature is Asian, you'll have a heck of a time IDing it.

 

I just realized that if the name is Thai it would be close to impossible to read it. Their surnames are very long and unique. Never new that. According to wikipedia:
'Thai culture only by the 1913 Surname Act,and under Thai law, only one family can use any given surname: any two people of the same surname must be related, and it is very rare for two people to share the same full name. In one sample of 45,665 names, 81% of family names were unique'

 

On the upside, they don't have a million "John Smiths" in the phone directory.

 

I remember this one! I liked it then,I like it now ! I still think its better than "sofa" art.

 

It must be my imagination, but I thought someone recognized the temple (building?) in the background and sort of ID'd the location. No? It might have been a different painting.
