Featured Blue glass beads

I'd appreciate any comments on this strand of 39 blue glass beads. Are they anything special?

Irregular shapes = hand-made, right?

age is tough though......

 

They are so pretty. I love the deep blue color.

 

I'd be restringing those so I could wear them sooo fast; I love cobalt glass. They're hand made for sure, but that doesn't indicate age. Hand-made beads are still in production.

 

Yeah-- the blue color is definitely what caught my eye. They look very dark in normal indoor light, but sorta glow in the right light.

The keychain flashlights tend to be pretty inexpensive.

Cool! I had not heard of those but just learned a thing or two.

 

What is it about Cobalt blue! I collected it for years and see collections for sale at estate sales all the time. I have reduced my own collection to only the oldest items or most interesting but I am still drawn to it.

 

It is so beautiful! Love that color.

 

Another cobalt blue lover here, and I love those beads too, Pottery and komo.

 

I am certain these are Chinese 'Peking glass', the color is called sapphire blue and that color was used to imitate the "sapphire" hat finial/knob/ball of a certain court ranking (3rd) in their ranking system so they knew who ruled over who.
