The subject and the skill of the painter isn’t to my liking. One of the hands is especially poorly done. The painting looks like it has been copied from a girlie calendar but I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The work is mostly of the model and her transparent bathing suit. Or what remains of it.;)
The poor girl has had some bad plastic surgery done to her face, and her left hand was mangled. The background looks applied by sponge.
Other than that there could be interest in the painting from those members of the public who own a man cave and don't look too much at the painting technique and quality.

Like @Houseful, I believe this was copied from a photo of some sort. The person has some technical skills, but is not polished. Would not be surprised if this was a class project and the artist felt rushed.

Would also not be surprised if the artist worked from a projection.

Japanese anime crossed with soft porn. IMO choice of subject matter and composition is part of the "work".

I keep thinking I have seen those vertical nostrils below the nose before somewhere. I don't remember if it was some ethnographic sculpture or modern art.

A wet bathing suit contest on canvas. Meant to titillate that sort of crowd, as it lacks any feeling and is poorly rendered, but as AJ said it is fit for use in a man cave.

I would like to offer that sometimes art students do not have access to live models and one way they practice the human form is by using images found on the internet.

Porn, soft-porn, swimsuit calendars, live model web sites. Whatever is free.

I don't take issue with that.

Every time I see a thread with photos such as this I wonder that the "short speak" of NSFW has not become more main stream.............

And sorry. I find little to say about this which either a) hasn't been said already, or b) can be summed up with the shrug of the shoulders and a passing thought to Darwinism........

For those unaware (I know we're crossing a few native languages in this thread), "NSFW" is "Not Safe For Work" ... something that would be difficult to explain if your boss saw it on your monitor.

Some people also consider including such a label (in the subject/title) as a courtesy to people who would rather not be exposed to anything that falls into said category.

No tender eyes here, but I think you and @Mansons2005 have a point. This is an international forum with people from all cultures. This does not appear to be an antique or even vintage with that blue hair. Perhaps, rather than the title "painting discussion," @Oliver277 should have said "discussion of soft porn painting."

Absolutely not my intention to suggest such.

I do not consider this "soft porn," but an artist exercise.

(edited to correct omission of the word "not" in second sentence, lol)
