    Hi ,
This is a lovelyC clasp tube hinged broche. front made of gold (= i rubbed it 3 times heavily 30 sec of more and it tests positive for 14 kr) at the back silver. I would like to know when its made ( i belive 1840-1870) and where (germany?)

Are the white stone agate and the red one garnet?
Does this style a specifiek name?

i dunno why ithe pics doesnt show on the site as usual

    Thanks

You're right about the period, and could be right about Germany too. The stone is either white agate or white moonstone (popular in the Netherlands), the small stone is probably a Burmese ruby.
It is Biedermeier. A style from the German-speaking world that was also popular in the Netherlands, due to the importance of the 'bourgeoisie' here.
The style was geared towards the up and coming middle class that didn't want to be associated with royalty and their styles.

Yes, that little safety pin is more 1890s. Always good to have something extra on a valued brooch.

They were too big, I resized them for you:

I just noticed that there used to be a loop at the top. It could have been a pendant/brooch, or the loop was originally used for the safety chain and pin.

Thanks @Any Jewelry and @kyratango. I searched the term biedermeier and found similar ones. But they are all describe as gold-filled or hold plated. I know what gold plated means but what means gold-filled? and whow can i be sure this is not gold-filled but real gold?

Gold filled is a technique that wasn't around at the time. Sellers, eh.;)
Gold plating is a general term which covers several techniques.

These Biedermeier brooches were made in both gold plated and gold.
On the gold ones the gold is extremely thin, because there weren't as many commercially exploited goldfields at the time, which made gold very expensive. That is also why some of them have a silver back.
Because of the thin metal, these brooches are fragile. Sometimes the hollow part between front and back was filled with a natural resin or pitch for strength.

There are also silver and pinchbeck Biedermeier brooches. Pinchbeck looks like gold, but it is a copper alloy.
I don't see wear of a gold layer, so it probably isn't plated. But if you want to be sure, have it tested by a jeweler who knows antique jewellery. They have to know this type of jewellery, and how vulnerable it is.
