While not all Waterford is signed, that piece just doesn't seem quite right. It comes across as 'vase,' rather than 'vahse.'

    JMHO :)

Nah. Too clumsy and it almost looks moulded to me.

    Hi,
Do not think true "Waterford" but since Waterford was sold and they were making cheap copies such as Marquise etc from all over the world. JMHO

Who alleged that this vase is Wateford - the auctioneer perhaps?

Definitely not Waterford, it doesn't have the fine detailing and fire polishing you would expect from Waterford products.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

    Thank you all!
This one goes in the regular cabinet of miscellaneous vases, not with the china cabinet vahhhsez. :)
I have another candidate coming up. Y'all are inspiring me to go through some old boxed stuff in the basement.

I don't know a lot about Waterford, but I don't think Waterford had a star base like that.

What's the REAL scoop on Waterford??
I visited them on a trip to Ireland in 2000? Some years later a friend from Ireland visited here. He gave us the news that Waterford had not only closed, but destroyed all their molds to prevent knock-offs. I'm pretty sure they are still in business. This , just found, seems closer to facts.

The new owner of Waterford Wedgwood is a private equity firm known as KPS Capital Partners. They specialize in buying troubled firms, shedding legacy costs and turning them around by ‘making more things with less people’. This process is sometimes referred to as ‘strip and rip’ in private equity circles where legacy costs are stripped from a company by bankruptcy or other means and then the high-profile brand names are kept while ripping out most of the manufacturing base and relocating it to much lower-cost overseas locations. -

Image searches always get better results with plain backgrounds.
