Apothecary jars? Maker/age?

These were found in a mixed auction lot that included some nice porcelain from an early 20th century lattice bowl to a modern Vista Alegre cachepot. Then there were these three jars. They are only 4.5 inches tall (incl lids), bases 3.1 inches tall and just 2.5 inches diameter. Handpainted. Are these miniature replicas? Made where and when, modern?

    Any help appreciated

Replicas, to my eye. The painting doesn't have the sort of wonderful naive flow and exuberance you get with originals. (God, that sounds poncy!) Fake Meissen marks, but I bet they're Italian, latter half of the 20th. Pretty though.

Thanks for that. An update which may be relevant. Also in the lot were some Bristol blue glass items which we are researching this evening. In these was a blue glass pin dish with a gilt coat of arms and a motto underneath "opiferque per orbem dicor". This is the motto of the Worshipful Company of Apothecaries, very interesting that it was in the same lot as these jars.

Ah. I wonder if these were some sort of gift at a banquet or such. I've a rather nice oak coaster with the Woodworkers Company arms on it, which I suspect was made as a commemorative.

I'll bet your pin dish was made by Chance or Nazeing.

Chance Glass. The transfers were often made by Johnston Matthey.
