Featured Plastic brooch, about what age please?

The vendor in the Charity shop took it out of the cabinet and said it reminded her of a snail! It didn’t put me off buying it.
It’s two colour hard brown plastic, 1and quarter inches wide, 3 inches long but I can’t figure out when this was made and how old this sort of back pin use would be.
I haven’t had one of these before. Thought it was worth £1.99 to find out. Hope someone has some info, thanks.

I haven't seen anything exactly like this, but I do have a few vintage celluloid hat pins/ornaments from the 30s-40s and suspect that's when your pin was made.

 

Interesting colorway. Since monitors vary... How would you describe it? (Useful in dating.)
