index.jpg images.jpg The first Hickock piece (also shown solo) is a collar clip - it goes under the tie and slides onto the sides of a collar to hold them down and makes the knot more prominent - popular in the 1920s and enjoyed a slight (and thankfully short lived) resurrection in the early 1980's, though then they sometimes had added chains and dangling charms and were generally MORE obnoxious - it that's possible.

The "real gentleman's" version has small ball ends that screwed off and went through finished holes in the collar.

Bottom right is a Dutch coin, probably 5 cents, maybe worth a couple of bucks in EF condition.

Your mystery item in the last picture seems to be part of a separating keychain - the kind where you could pull it apart and give the car keys to someone, while keeping house keys, trunk key, etc. If it is too big for keys, it could be a belt hook or some such, that allows quick release.

The filigree item looks to be a crimp frame or finding. it could be gently spread open near the top to release the filigree panels. Probably has a piece of blotter paper between them for scent to be added to, but might be a wish, prayer, love note, or hair. If it is marked sterling it could be the only part that is or it could apply to the whole thing.
    - cheers

The one marked Anson in the last picture. Could that be a zipper pull?

    Many thanks to you all.

So does it make sense to sell in the groups I've shown here (not counting the last one)? Or should I make a bigger lot?

It looks like it says "Anson." They made men's jewelry - tie clips, money clips, etc. I think it goes on a belt and holds keys.

bercrystal, I'm laughing. My mother hardly wore jewelry, but couldn't resist buying boxes at yard sales back in the 50s-60s. Then my aunt who did wear tons of costume jewelry died. I had literally two Rubbermaid bins of jewelry boxes filled with stuff. Most of it was jewelry, but there were nuts, screws, bolts, washers, paper clips, bobby pins, and random items I couldn't identify plus many of them contained small caliber bullets. I came from a hunting family. I'd never heard anyone else say they found bullets in jewelry boxes before. I feel so much better now!

...and that's how one gets more bang for the buck.

I am glad I could provide some humor to start off your week
Mostly they are small ones, but one time I found one that was almost 4" long.:eek:
My problem is I never know what to do with them. I usually try to give them to someone who is into guns & ask them to dispose of them for me.

My local sporting goods store took them. Guys who fish often hunt as well.

One more time, if I may. I'd like advice on how to group these for listings. As they are grouped now, in hte later photos, or in bigger lots?

As always, thank you in advance for helping!

BTW, I just found that the Honor Society key is 14k. Not sure what the S and arrow are. maker mark?

And the Pi Lambda Sigma is engraved with owner's initials and year ('33). But what is that between the initials and the year?

Guess I'll have to show it to a jeweler friend on Thursday. I can't imagine it would be engraved if not gold.

Yes indeed. University of Scranton. And here's what I found on the back of it. 1/20, 10K & KINNEY PROV., R.I. So it's 10K, but what's the "1/20" mean? (Kinney is the maker I presume.)

Right. The two sides do not come apart.

It means it is not 10K but is 10K gold filled.

It looks very familiar to me too, but I can't find it. Closest I could find is a company that was out of business before 1904, and as far as I can tell, dealt only in sterling not gold.
