That's interesting how they treated the sick glass. I often find pieces of sick glassware.

Yes, that's the gist of it. The person who "cleaned" it has his own process that I don't know 100% of the details of, but it takes 6-8 weeks - I think he has some special homemade machines for what amounts to tumbling the vase as you would with stones in lapidary work. (With just the inside surface exposed to the polishing compound/material of course). If anyone wants the contact info for him I'd be glad to provide. His prices for "cleaning" range from $30-55 - a steal if you ask me!

Jivvy the research is my favorite

I expected the cost to be higher! Fabulous.

(I don't have any glass to heal, but I can still be impressed!)

Wow, that's amazing. I had no idea it was even possible to clean glass like that. The vase is stunning.

Very organised @daveydempsey (As expected of course!)
I know what you mean about the swearing- people seem to have no inhibitions about cursing. I'm no angel but I give people 'the look' when they F and blind around my children.
Do you still have any of those insects in resin left? If they are the reasonably priced version I'd be interested as my daughter likes them and it's her birthday soon. Not to worry if they are the proper collectors ones or if you've sold them all. :)

I am sure some people prefer the patina on the antique cicada, but I must say those modern colours give it a bit more 'je ne sais quoi'.:pompous:

    Hi,
I remember one year one was on my fence. I spent 5 hours going out and photographing it every fifteen minutes until it broke free and flew out. When I was going to take out the film and have it developed I almost dropped dead. There was NO film in the damn camera.!!!!

Some finds from the war, I do have more WW1/WW2 stuff but just thought I'd take a photo of a few bits from the war.
