I think the code words are "carved Chinese".

On the matter of guessing age by wear, when it was announced in the 1970s that a ban would be going into effect in the US, sellers had big sales & people like my mom took advantage. The hinged cuff she bought already had signs of a previous life & was sold as antique. The carved bangle looked new & still does, nearly 50 years later. Don't think she wore it much & I never have.

The "sigara tutacağı" is not silver... But the tip turns the simichrome yellow-orange! Resized_20230223_115754~2_870051566582261.jpeg

The niello box, shaped as a book has a springed hinge... That refuses to close only wanting to open the lid (no closure...:banghead:)

The little snuff box is plated silver, verdigris inside I'm getting rid of.
The bracelets are 925 silver, the pendant with green paste is plated silver (not a locket), sweet little Delft brooch, pristine shell cameo silver pendant brooch and white metal celluloid elephants brooch.

Those celluloid insert brooches are between the wars and French usually. I've go some, including one showing Tower Bridge!

I think I also have a fake Peranakan bangle...
