I know what you mean lol. I lived in North Carolina for 5 years and the thrift stores and yard sales are brilliant and cheap unlike here in Britain today everything is very junky and not very old and expensive.

Here's my charity shop finds for today. Not very exciting but much better than what I usually do.

    The coins are:
    1) Six Pence 1950
    2) Half Penny 1926
    3) Half Penny 1919
    4) One Penny 1914
    5) Two Shillings 1956

The hand drill is a Stanley Made in England No.803

The small ceramic tray is possibly 1940's

The buttons are old British Military.

Me too I have a large collection of old marbles, I have 1800s German marbles and other old marbles some cats eyes marbles are hard to tell if they are old or modern. I have many prewar cats eyes marbles that I've found in old 40s tips.

Ooh, I have a box with some that look like clay. Please can I post a photo to see if you think they are something or nothing?

The clay marbles are older Victorian and were cheap to buy for the poor kids that couldn't afford the glass marbles. Sure I'd love to see what clay marbles you have :)

Nice marbles I have some just like those blue and white ones and also those red and white ones and other variations of them, the marbles you have look 1900s to sorta 30s and 40s. The older 1900s marbles were hand made and you'd see the mark where the marble was cut at either end and the later 30s and 40s marbles were machine made. The clay marbles you have are probably 1890s.

Got my Fritsche vase back from the glass cleaner - and boy howdy if it doesn't look gorgeous now, I'm so happy with it! This is a quick before and after - still haven't taken proper pics but I'm sure you can tell the difference - it was quite "sick" inside previously and even had some scratches on the interior, now she's crystal clear and beautiful.
