Will see some of the more common Norwegian flatware patterns by more than one maker - but not sure what the deal was with Hammer and Andersen - find all sorts of pieces bearing their marks that are near identical. Researching my enamel Columbian Exposition Viking ship spoon that lacked a maker's mark, likely due to some idiot soldering pin findings to it (my jeweler did a fine job of removal), though they are also occasionally found unmarked - they were made by both Marius Hammer and David Andersen, with only very tiny variations; also have an uncommon Viking ship salt that is found with marks by both makers. Regardless, both quality makers...

Heh, may have inherited the collecting gene from her, but I was collecting silver, and spoons in particular, long before her - started in my teens (mid '70s).

Two American plique-à-jour spoons, the sugar spoon by Campbell-Metcalf, nicely done and unusual in that the firm made this pattern in a number of different pieces, the red and green like this one most common, but other colorways were produced; the demitasse spoon is typical in its simple workmanship and lack of a maker's mark.

Not a spoon, but rather nice enamel, a brooch by Norwegian Ivar T. Holth:

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Oh, these are beautiful! Recently at an antique show or store I saw somebody's small display of this type of spoon. He seemed to have fairly high prices and not being knowledgeable, I passed by.
