Who in their right mind might have made this thing! What do you think of it? IMG_5225.JPG IMG_5226.JPG IMG_5224.JPG IMG_5222.JPG IMG_5218.JPG

The clear square beads are bakelite/plastic? And a bit fractured INSIDE.

Lucite, yes....much more up market but how to tell? Sold a necklace as gothic lucite once to a Saudi gent and he was stone mad about it but you take a chance eh? Thanks AJ. Do I register your silence on it's beauty as?

I think it is cute, but we have some 'costume joolies' who can tell you much more about it. I am sure they will be along.
I know my avatar name is any jewelry, but I came to the conclusion I fibbed about that one, I had forgotten about costume.:shame::D

Do you think so, was it ever a fashion? Just seems such an odd pairing?

I'm right handed, but no one has ever accused me of being right minded, so I made this one:

I think the fishy was a bad choice. :meh:

I'm not used to seeing lucite-type plastics with so many bubbles and swirls.

Whatever they are, I do not believe all of these pieces started life together. :joyful:

Probably my aging eyes, but I don't see any swirls, only in the rosequartz. The cubes have fractures, as Carol said. Those could be intentional?
Very cute, Bronwen. Phoenicians eat your heart out.:playful:

Before I joined the forum I would have been annoyed to hell trying to figure this out, put it back in the box and I don’t care now, on it will go!! Thank you all so very much for the lack of information, helped me make up my mind.:):)

If it is lack of information you want, you've come to the right place.:pompous:

Seriously though, it is probably a cute hobbyist piece. (That looked like the bobbyist is cute, didn't it. )
The rosequartz beads have value, and the combination brings a smile to my face.:)

Tough call. Doesn't look like lucite to me, but not sure it matters. :joyful:

Just looking at the fish again, are you sure it is pewter? Thai Hill Tribe silversmiths make a lot of fish beads as well.
