I am curious about this clasp

I wasn't going to bother you all with this pink multi strand plastic bead necklace. Then curiosity got the better of me. I think due to the length and colors it is most likely from the 1960's. Please tell me if I am off base on age. But I was intrigued by the clasp. It's a hook clasp looks to me like brass but decorated with the pink cabs. No marks. The necklace is 23". The beads are knotted between each one. It's a pretty thing. Does the clasp point to any specific age/origin? As always, thanks for looking and opinions.

Very nice clasp. Whole thing looks 50s into 60s. Usually, those fancy clasps are German or Japanese, but for some reason my head thinks French.

Thanks Owned. I did think maybe German/Japanese but I am not that confident with my abilities to assess unmarked pieces. Any particular attribute that makes you think French? Just looking to learn.

It's incredible all those plastic beads are hand knotted. Almost argues for Japan as labor would have been cheaper in the 50s/60s. The clasp is quite nice for a plastic bead necklace.

I was surprised at the hand knotting on the plastic beads.

The hook style clasp on your necklace is very similar to that on a Selro Selini necklace I posted on the Finds thread recently - are you sure there isn't a name somewhere on the back?
    This is mine-

I found this one on Etsy - same as yours but in a different colour combination.

There is a cartouche on the back that I have louped every which way but it didn't seem to have letters. I wish it was a Selini. I will try again. It is very close to your clasp. I did a google lens search on the whole necklace but nothing turned up to match. I will have to try again and see if the Etsy posting comes up for me. Thanks LucyLocket.
