Anyone recognize this image?

I have had this thing forever - never have been able to find that image, and have no idea what the poem or whatever is.

The french is hard to read.....something to do with the Infinite ...

 

Sorry, no, I don't recognize it. Plus it is time for me to tackle some other tasks. BUT, must ask. Is that poem/observation/statement in french? Seems to be with the few works I can ID. Can you spell and type some/many of those, even though you question some of the letters.
Possible translations - "L'inein (last letter e? Might translate to "the entraj. = entreat, ask, beg.
"That we........." "confused state of mind...." etc., etc.

I am reasonably certain that it is in French, but the casting is so poor, and my eyesight is so bad, that I can't make out much.
I will see if I can find my old cross stitch magnifier to see if that helps.

It's definitely in French, but the photo isn't quite clear enough to read it. Poetry for certain, but I'm not sure whose. It's something about watching the infinite ocean being calming to the soul from what I can see, but no clue whose that is. Twentieth century French poetry isn't exactly my strong suit.

 

Bottom line starts with "you felt it...."

And, Komo, you are right for once I was misreading one letter. Translates to Infinity.

I leave you with what might be a little bit easier to see. Will check back later to see how well you have performed.

I had tried earlier, but gave it up as a lost cause. Hence the lousy photos I did post.

 

Messilane. My photos are a weak attempt to make the writing a bit clearer to give someone who knows how, a better start on making them readable. No thanks necessary.
As Evelyb hinted at - no chance of an author's name anywhere??? If we had that and/or could translate/decipher enough words we might find the full quote on line.
Let's not give up.
