Featured Japanese Donabe clay pot age and usage help

    I found this while out thrifting the other day and while I have seen these and am familiar with their usage this one seemed just a little more interesting than most.
    Has natural crazing and a very old looking glaze with attached handles and that green is just cool.
    What really makes me wonder what it was used for is the size. A whopping 3 1/2" from handle to handle. the bowl holds about 1/4 cup.
    Any thoughts and information appreciated.

    Green is always cool! :)

    Kind of strange that the handle looks like a individual ashtray. Probably not intended.

    Don't know what it was really meant for, but would be great for wasabi.
