Thank you. He has been through many travels and changes in climate (hence the cracks and broken stand), but I still love him.

It cannot be removed from the base. It is attached.
I will take more pics and post in a few hours when I go back over there.

Please check the "temperature" of the piece - as others have said, if it feels cold on a sensitive part of your body (such as your face), it is more likely to be glass or stone. If it feels warm, more likely resin/plastic.

Ok so when touched by my cheek it feels cool. All pictures attached were taken with the flash on. I focused on the 2 areas in question, although I did take a bunch more too. Seems to me to be very dusty, maybe I need to wash him, I don’t know... 895DEBC6-2F04-46B8-B27C-67BDDE3A28A6.jpeg 3999F064-0CAD-40FF-AE3C-C8FADC6E2DEC.jpeg 2EAEDDEF-0917-402A-8A42-3BFAF79B324A.jpeg A630B015-A843-4D03-867A-C5FA640E5250.jpeg 0430CDEE-B3FA-4082-87CB-69E87719EA44.jpeg 16B5CB67-B034-4482-869F-FB48FBBC64C1.jpeg

Thank you for the extra photos, dishes. It is resin. You can see some burst bubbles, and the 'carved' lines were just pressed into the original the mold was made from.
The fact that the Hotei is stuck to the base is also a tell-tale sign, and the odd colour shading points to man made material.

Resin was the magic word, although I think mine is cuter :)

Yes, the bubbles (and the duplicate on ebay) certainly settle it.

    It certainly is.
As you can see from the asking price (not sold), resin is not bad. Jade would have been better, but ah well....:)

Thanks again for all the info!! With so many things, I search and search but it’s the little clues I receive from this forum site that always lead me in the right direction!! :)
