Hey - when you go and there ain't nobody left, that's what happens to stuff..... that's what will happen to my stuff - 99% of which was inherited from family.............not really disrespectful........more expedient than anything when it doesn't "mean" anything to anyone

    to me...that's still sad.
That menorah could have been left to a synagogue or community center for it to still have a life of service to customs and traditions and families.

"komokwa" You can be sure it will be put to good use and as you can see its been cleaned up and polished, it was black when I picked it up and I was surprised that it still had the Shamash candle holder (ninth candle). The sad fact is that a lot of us depend on the ignorance, apathy or lack of knowledge of people when disposing of belongings for extra money or even our livelihood. I've even run into some people who just didn't care and were glad to have someone buy their "junk".
I went to one sale very early in the day and when I saw what was there I suggested he cancel the sale and put it in the hands of someone who handled estates to maximize what he got and that there was a lot of valuable things there to which I was told that he didn't care and just wanted the stuff gone. I made a large pile of stuff and asked what he wanted and he said 20 bucks. That pile was worth over 7 grand in the end! (doesn't happen every day :depressed:)
"Mansons2005" I agree totally, I told my kids I'm leaving it up to them to clean up my stuff. (it's their punishment) :woot::woot:

You'd be surprised, Corey. I've met people like that, too. They don't know, or don't give a damn what their stuff is worth, they just wanna get it the hell out of their house / shop.

You make some great bargains that way, if you're smart...

Hey Coreya....I wasn't ragging on you or trying to bring you down.....it really wasn't personal....I'm actually glad you found it and gussied it up .
The Shamash being there tells the whole story......& I hope it burns bright again one day ! :):):)

komokwa I didn't take it that way and it would take a bunch to get me down here in online world (see previous occupation picture) ;)and I'm glad I found it to!!! It could have been picked up by a scrapper and melted which would have been a shame.:(
