Can someone please with this candlestick(?).

At first glace my thoughts were 19th C. Chinese, famille rose, but there is a faint impressed number on base -- '152' -- that's usually not associated with antique Chinese items. The gilt metal mounts are marked 'Germany'. There's a small hole drilled at side and a hanging metal ring that appears to have once held something. The small round decorated medallions appear to be Asian influenced.

    Thank you!

Looks kind of art deco to me. I agree, impressed numbers usually mean European origin. This deserves a bump up and more expert attention!

Thanks guys for your replies and thoughts.

I'll research the Art Deco era and see what I can find.

I don't know anything about the item, but the pattern reminds me of 40s/50s rayon textile prints. May just be coincidence, though.

Although I don't think it really is, it sorta, kinda, looks like a Clarice Cliff design.

My first reaction was Czech or Japanese. The numbers would be more indicative of Czech.
What is that brass thing? Does it come out?

Could it have been wired for a lamp. Looking up inside it appears there is another hole at the top where the wire would have gone up.

Orange painted handle. Most often seen on ceramics of the 1930s.
