Some of the good bits from that rummage sale last week. The silver and white pieces are marked Silver Mexico; my guess would be white agate trying to be jade. The necklace is a fragment in silver and chrysoprase. Any marks were on the bit that's no longer there. There's also a bunch of Israeli silver, some with eilat and some malachite. Or something.

Jivvy the research is my favorite

I'm so happy to see bits and bobs being put to use!

I had those darn for beads a gazillion years, but was never inspired enough to even restring them. Or throw them away. :p

Thank you for giving them new life. :shame:

Evelyb, I wish you were close. I would pay you to teach me restringing, knotting, and attaching findings. Great job. Did you tie the end thread to the findings in the bone necklace? I took a beading course, just for an afternoon, and I hate those metal end things you clamp. They bother my neck, dig into it.

I had to replace the original clasp. It still worked, but I can never re-attach those darned things. In this case it's just knot and glue. I hate crimp beads too unless I'm working with tigertail. They make covers for them so they don't scratch you to death.

I grabbed a handful of brooches, then realised when I got home and cleaned them, that this was decent. D'Orlan.

Not a good start as most sellers had been frightened off by yesterday’s rain!. The kids found a few bits of tat to keep them happy and we headed home. Happened to see a sign that said SALE TODAY (of what would be helpful!) and found a pavement charity sale that was just packing up.
Found this Italian leather jewellery box ( the Italians do leather so well don’t they) with a random Italian Caravanning logo on the back (?!).
Also two silver crucifixes - didn’t realise the silver foil looking one was silver until I got it home which was a nice surprise as it’s a big chunk of silver. The other one has turquoise or glass in it, both on sterling chains. Also a gold plated odd looking cross, a pretty blue costume bracelet and the lovely lady selling pressed the little book into my hand as I obviously looked like I needed salvation!. Think it’s quite old and has some sweet pictures in it.
They were raising money for the church heating hence the religious theme.
Total spend £2.50 and gave her a donation so the day got better!

2 boxes of Noma Party & Patio lanterns, never opened:) I'd like to keep one to use along side my Tiki and Pagoda lanterns I have up, but I'm on the fence if I should open them/use them or sell both sets on.

That blue one looks like Bell Trading Post or something similar. The weird one, is weird. No idea and it's not on the All Crosses website.

Evelyb, I had no idea they made covers for those crimps, thanks. I like the knotting/glue approach better, or using those old-fashioned ball things you put the knotted end thread in.

Cxgirl, live and use them. We only go around once.

KSW, that Bible Lillies is divine.

I got a mobility scooter out of the last clearance this week, all charged up and ready to go.
It even had the power to push my removal mans truck backwards with his brake off.

I got about 200 magazines in a crate from the early 70's.
I inspected them today and the top one is very fitting as this is the anniversary of the moon landing.

I just checked out the licence plate number of that Rolls Royce in the picture, its still registered and being used with less than 10,000 miles on the clock, built in 1971 with a 27,000 litre engine, yes 27000cc Spitfire engine.:eek:

A little bit of research and it’s quite old. There’s a copy floating around with an 1854 inscription in it although who knows what edition this is.
