Frustrations ...

He was a legend in his own mind at least. Even I got pink-slapped (another old Ebay boards reference) for not being willing to put up with a troll. The people the boards censored or banned give a really good indication of who the real problems were. (although I can see Davey sending the family dogs after someone ... but those big lugs would just probably lick the miscreant to death.)

 

Well, to be honest sabre .. There is fire burning under my calmness, when agitated that fire comes to the surface, I'm just like everyone else ... Joy.

I know that when I first came here.....having grown UP with antiques, and Mom assuming I therefore knew all about what I grew up with (which of course, at the time, I had little interest in!!!).....I soon found out how much of a learning curve I was stepping in to!!!! Loved, and am still loving, every minute of it!!!!! NOW, to just retain it...............! Everyone here is and always has been SO patient in opening at least MY eyes, sending me to links, etc. But one of the best parts I LOVE, is how a thread can get SO FAR OFF on a tangent, and then POP RIGHT back to the discussion at hand!!!!! JUST LOVE IT HERE!!!!! YOU are all SAINTS to have the patience that you DO!!!!!!!

 

I was another person who was banned from the boards. It wasn't over DSS. Had to do with the new policies, and I didn't like the way one moderator was behaving and said so. That was the end of me.
Found this place, and was able to contact some of you and let you know about this board.

This is absolutely the best place to be.

I think I took vacation for two or three times due to him...
and it went from bad to worse when those low battery guys took over and protected not only him but also other doubtful figures - in my case a sweaty red faced suspected pedophile alcoholic from Bali that was given my private address by ebay and threatened to come to then Switzerland (which of course I had a hearty laugh at - new proverb "see Switzerland and kick the bucket"...).

I never doubted that there're knowledgeable members here, but apparently they're all on well earned vacation at the moment. Those who stayed at home are apparently the agressive, selfpromoting bad guys with egos at the size of Mount Everest. Alas, alas ...

As much as I wanted to believe that you weren't just a troll - alas alas, you keep proving that you are. Will most likely use the ignore button on you so as to not have to read any more of your inane, and just plain wrong, observations.

 

Dear, dear DSS. I fondly remember what he referred to as my days of "procuring" for a female board member and a male board member she had a great rapport with, as well as of being in a "romantic" relationship with both. If I had indulged in a third of the things he accused me of enjoying with those two members I would have expired years ago. Oh, and his very creative threats of torture and retribution were so amusing! A regular avenging angel, he was! Oh, how I miss the evenings spent cataloguing his electronic missives and forwarding them to my lawyer. My heart would be all aflutter each time I heard the postman drop the post through the mail slot, wondering if I would be the recipient of another of his clever attempts at Photoshop (all of which I am certain he planned out in crayon on foolscap before transferring them to his PC). Yes, his imagination was a thing of wonder, his social skills not equaled in any kindergarten, and his IQ somewhere around that of a maggot..................Oh, how I pine for the "Ye Goode Olde Days"...........................

Seriously, I never could find out how he obtained my personal email and home addresses (to my knowledge he never attempted to contact me via telephone, but I screened all calls at the time and there was a small increase in "hang-ups" when the machine would pick up).

eBay would do nothing about his contacting me as it was all done off of the board, but through some sort of legal procedure they did have to disclose whether or not they had provided him with my personal contact information (they claimed they did not). I remember that I had to "challenge" him on the board, without mentioning him directly by name before the suit could actually be filed in court. And it must help to use one of the oldest law firms in Boston, because I had a court order in a matter of weeks. Never got pink-slapped and never heard from him off of the board again. At least he was intelligent enough to know when he was dealing with someone who didn't have the time, energy, or interest in dealing with him personally and just took the quickest and easiest path of legal proceedings.

I agree. Out of necessity, both professional and personal, I studied narcissism closely. There is usually a touch of that in trolls.
They are insecure and unhappy, and have to inflate their egos to feel they are 'someone'. In order to do that they feel the need to belittle others, after all, if the rest of the world is small, they are big.
They don't have a developed conscience, which means no brake when feeling the (incessant) need to make other people unhappy too.
And they hate it when they are found out, of course, and will direct their arrows at those who see through them. They are scared those who recognize narcissism will see the little person they see themselves.

The general advice with narcissists is to give them a wide berth. Which is impossible on an internet forum of course. And in a lot of other situations as well, there are just too many of them.

Now that I have calmed down. I would like to heap a pile of manure on DDS. He got me banned several times and finally for ever. He was the most disgusting troll I have ever run into. He was the worlds only true expert on everything. He used to call a serious collector and author of several books on the subject an old lying idiot. When I called his tirades I was banned. We used to get into issues and I would lose my cool. The very first person to do so. I never cared what he said about me but when he picked on other people, it caused me to Rant ad Rave. I had a friend who lived a couple of blocks from him. I wanted him to find someone who would go there and beat the living tar out of him. He is the only person who causes my blood pressure to soar. I was so glad to come here and settle in.

I know he's trying, but seriously, he's not making much of a show for someone of DSS' stature.

Just can't see where anyone will be talking about this guy in more than a week or two.
