Glass Beetle ID, Age? Paperweight?

    We got this glass beetle today and need some help with ID, age, etc. if anyone can help us, it's greatly appreciated! It's 8" long by 4" wide by 1" thick. Thanks! image.jpg image.jpg

    I think this is probably newer but it is a knock-off of an early 20th century iridescent art glass scarab paperweight. Yours might also function as a pin tray, desk tray, or even an ash tray with the way the feet make a rim for it. It is a form I have not seen before. The most famous of these were made by Tiffany but there were others.

    We found some that were slag glass but we're on a site that once sold there was no more records just the pics

    We were also able to ID what kind of beetle it is "Sawyer Beetle" but still no luck on any others like this out there

    It looks like it may be a Dung Beetle.

    If you look at the antane they are what make up the lip around the body I don't know if it helps but that's what we have been able to figure out so far..
