I have to go back to the beginning of the summer to catch up on finds post. I went to a few yard sales yesterday. First time in months and I found a few treasures.

Congrats to Owned on the vase. Nice! Markos I hope you are feeling better. I love that blue pendent. Terry what's your secret to get that so shiny?

Kristian, looks like you had quite the productive day.

Aren't mirrors with that kind of trim usually called Venetian?

I found a neodymium bird bowl today. Doesn't show any signs of age.

Nice bird. Try Zelezny Brod as the maker. Zanetti did this stuff as well, but yours looks more Czech.

No pics yet because they are now wrapped and in store pending cleaning and photoing. But we recently bought two lots online (and unseen) when bored and we got another lot chucked in for free. The two lots we knew about will wipe their face but do nothing spectacular, while the freebie lot has several pairs of crown devon blush vases (early 20th century) plus an unrecorded pattern (?) single vase from the same maker.

Sounds like a deal to me. Today I left the house on about three hours' sleep to go hunting in the next town over. Catholic church tag sale. The piece I thought had a gold mark turned out to be...Napier.(sigh) On the other hand I got a dated 1946 sterling rosary in the pile; I talked the lady up to $20 for that and a good lot of more recent silver earrings and some other bits. The ones on the right aren't NA, most likely. The signature is all wrong.

It's ceramic; I think he's a transfer of some sort. Cute though.

    Hi,
I am so bummed out. Suffering the intense itch on my arms, I decided to go yard sailing. I went to 31 sales. My entire buying spree bought me a 1950s center handled server and a Lenox vase total output 1.25 cents. I have NEVER ever had such a bad buying experience. I am soooo depressed right now.

    Greg,
Look at it this way - you saved so much money that you can SPLURGE if you ever find a "good sale" with the thing-a-ma-bob that you have coveted for awhile.......

Hope that itching goes away soon - as I said, sometimes the cure is worse than the disease. Sorry you are so bummed!

I found a stack of WWII letters from a serviceman to back home. About 16-18 inches. I glanced at the return addresses and postmarks. You could see the progression from training, to the Pacific theater, to Japan. I'm sure there was great historical notes in them.

When I asked how much, she said they couldn't sell personal papers and would trash them.
