My wife and I picked these up at a local Restore and we just loved the shape of them. We paid $40 a piece and figured we were getting a good deal. Talking to an upholsterer at a trade show this weekend, we described the chairs and the upholsterer figured they might be 30 or more years old.

The fabric is kinda worn and we are considering reupholstering them, but don't want to if it will affect the value.

I've searched the web but could not find anything like these. Well doesn't help that I don't know what I am looking for. I couldn't find a tag on the chair anywhere.

    Any help would be fantastic.

Oh and I live in Ontario, Canada

I have no idea what they are really called but they are chairs with Flair!

    And the color is super!

The only thing different I see, is the tufted upholstery, and the description does say it is newly upholstered.

I agree everything else looks almost identical.

They appear to be 20th C reproductions of Victorian tub chairs, and do what you like to the upholstery, but it may cost more than they are worth. I'd keep them as they are and call it shabby chic. Although they do not look all that shabby to me.

I really do not care if furniture and stuff looks a bit ratty and timeworn since it enables me to blend into the background.

I thought perhaps 1920s,and I agree they are fab ! Love the lines ! I would reupholster if I were going to keep them, but wouldn't otherwise. I think the color on them now really sings . :)

I would like to thank everyone for their input. We decided to leave them as is, we do love the color as well and they look great in the space we picked for them.

My wife steam cleaned the fabric and it looks pretty darn good.

We at least have an idea of what time period they are from.
