I guess the marks won't matter much but any idea what are they about?
    Thanks

The new (1968) Italian mark identifying the silversmith consisted of a polygon containing:
    Star
number: corresponding to the number identifying the silversmith
two letters: initials of the Province

As Mansons said this is after 1968 Italian silver. The silver content is 800. The label says in Italian:

Argentiera, Regali Bomboniere = Silverware, Gifts Favors
    Di Maria = Of Mary
Via Liberta, 8/10 - ENNA = street address in Enna, Sicily, Italy

Enna is the capital of the province Enna on the island of Sicily. The official Italian silver hallmark has a star, 224 and the letters of a province with the last letter being an "A." I'm not sure what the 1st letter is. The letters could be BA for Bari, CA for Cagliari, PA for Palarmo, RA for Ravenna, SA for Salarno, TA for Taranto, etc... If I had to guess I would say PA for Palarmo because it is also a city of Sicily. To be perfectly honest, it really doesn't matter with this 800 silver item for a specific location. Just knowing the timeframe and country is enough.

I suspect "Di Maria" is the retailer like a jewelry store or gift shop and not the silversmith. The silversmith's number is 224. Following is a webpage about Italian silver markings.

Oh for heaven's sake! I had written this reply last night, but it didn't "post."

Looks like PA for Palermo. Unfortunately my go-to site for such things only shows the Palermo list up to 93.

    JMHO.
Palermo and sold in a sweets shop in Enna ? number of silversmith way out of the known range (the more so: numbers are re-used in the Ialian system. when one silversmith goes out of business his number is sometimes given to a newcomer).
    testing is a must.
