    Hello all,

I need some help putting a value on this book. It's an 1886 Appletons Standard Arithmetics Numbers Illustrated by D Appleton & Co. Its very worn on the covers, it has some pencil drawings on the inside of the front cover, and one of the pages. The pages themselves are in excellent condition. Pics are attached.

    Thanks,
    Aidan

    Hi and welcome! :)
Good to have you here though I guess I will be the first to inform you that pricing is so difficult that few would offer any.
That said, I didn't find this book in my searches.
This means little to nothing but if it was desirable I would have found it methinks.
There are others here who may know of or can find it.
I like it for the history of it but it's pretty hammered too.
I have lots of kid's school books and don't recall having this but may.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Here are some listings for people trying to sell copies of this book. Note that this is what they are asking, and nobody necessarily is selling it at these prices ($28.50-$54.75)

Ah! You did better than I but your point is noted. :) Thanks for the links!
Even if those are perfect, or even signed by the author, I can't imagine anyone wants them.
Nothing on ABE, Alibris, eBidet nor Ruby. If I tripped over this at a G sale or thrift store I would buy it if less than $5.

As a curio $2 sounds about on the mark. By the end of the 19th C. the advent of mass education meant masses of schoolbooks.
