Can anyone here please help me ID this? There are no marks on it what so ever besides the decorations. There is also a wooden rod that seem to go through it but doesnt move or come out. The "legs" seem to be missing a base but really unsure.
    Any help would be appreciated!!!

How big is it? Not that I know what it is but it is an essential element in an attempt to identify it.

If you rolled it round the pasty crust for a pie, it would leave a fancy pattern on the crust. You'd hold it by the wooden handles.

I could totally buy that if it werent cone shaped, or if it didnt have the "feet" on it. I think that it is in fact for making a pattern of some sort though...
Appreciate the replies by the way!:angelic:

Can't help but feel that if it was for making a pattern, it wouldn't have the "feet" attached. Any chance that it is some form of decorative handle?

Would it work to roll/mark pastry which would ultimately be used in a (confectionary/dessert) product in a cone/funnel shape?????

That looks like a spindle off a piece of furniture.

I should have left out the word "roll" above.

It should have read: "to mark pastry which would ultimately . . . ." meaning merely pressed into already "rolled" pastry to leave the intricate imprint.;)

    I'm seeing a handle

The way the "feet" are proportioned to keep the item visually straight when mounted vertically, I too see a handle - missing a finial and bottom drop

Would help to have at least one more pic with "feet" toward camera. Looks like maker has put matchmark code of 3 dots on left foot so this piece will go on correct side of or position on final product. Might have been four identical pieces if we are seeing a matchmark "3." Looks like piece was turned a bit oversize then pressed in hot mold to get the "carving." "Feet" must be male dovetail fittings; most of that will be hidden on assembly and matchmarks wouldn't show.

I could picture this as something attached to a wall vertically, either as a handle, or for decorative purposes.

But I can also possibly see it as a printing block for printing a pie-shaped design... maybe a quarter circle. If that were the case, there would have been another piece spanning the two "legs," creating a handle.

Came from piece of furniture I have no doubt.

I'll try and get another pic of it. I can't imagine a piece of furniture though....where would it have possibly went.?

Maybe a 4-legged table with splayed legs. The 4 pieces like you have would be parts of each leg at the point where a horizontal member attached using the pair of dovetails. But I'm no furniture expert, I'm just making educated guesses.
