I found this at a yard sale over week-end & for $25 I bought it. If you look at the top edge of the canvas you can see how dirty it is & how beautiful blue the sky is suppose to be!
Is there a simple/safe way for me to clean it?
Is it worth it? (anyone know the artist? - I found a F. Baecke but no J. Barcke - could the 1st initial be a F?
    Thank you!

That’s a Texas scene with those blue bonnets, surely Florent Baecke.

No. Great harm is often done with the best of intentions.

The 3 that sold were 4” x 6”. Don’t use that price in regard to yours.

If you don't have a FREE liveauctioneers account, you really should get one to check recent prices (the $50 lot was in 2013 -- prior to the artist's death).

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

The listing posted by @wiscbirddog showed the artist's paintings in the $2,200. range! Check it out if you didn't!! (Prices covered a wide range......)

    Thank you!
Recommendations for getting it cleaned correctly?
    For finding out painting's name?
    Thanks again.

You might consider contacting the Dutch Art Gallery through the link that @wiscbirddog provided. They seem to be interested in this particular artist.

    His obit:

... also raised several acres of flowers on his South Side farm, selling on site and to local florists...

    Thanks, @Debora

    Maybe Baek's farm??

THAT may very well be!! I will contact Dutch art gallery w/pics and ask if they know the name of painting, if it was of his farm & if interested in buying.
Thanks all - I really appreciate the help here.

Think a bit of logic leap to think artist's farm. He lived in Houston; he sold cultivated flowers. Nothing about scene reflects those facts.

    :)

Only lots of flowers and a decrepit building, I agree!

The picture that jivvy posted the second picture from top row is pretty much similar to yours. Sold for 400.00 so you can get an idea of what yours is worth.
