Help with Miro, please.

Correct name of a Miro piece would be great. This was purchased 50 years ago. At that time I knew the name Miro assigned to it. Unfortunately it wasn’t recorded and now I cannot find it. The English translation is “The shooting star wounds the lingering sun.” Too many variables – shooting star – wounds – lingering -. I would love Miro’s original . The frame is 30 inches by 24

I also have his “Personages et chiens devant le soleil.” (No picture here. Ask if you would like it added.) Which my American friends (those who write the books and appraise the arts ) have named “Boy and dog in the sun.” Shame.

I am including a third one which I have had great luck in finding on the Web, but again with no name. Nowhere near as important but would be nice if I could add it while checking here. Frame is 18 ½ x 23 ½.

The first is titled Der Glanz der Sonne (verwundet den Morgenstern),
which translates online as: The glare of the sun ( the wounded Morgenstern).
I can’t find a definitive date for it, but thought I saw 1940 here and there.

The second is untitled, from a 1972 portfolio of lithographs called Miro a L’ancre, which more or less translates as Miro in ink.

As for the first, I'm not aware of any of his artwork named in German.

 

German sites were the only ones I found for the first. Try translating it into French, Spanish or Catalan.

The problem is what occurred with the German translation which re-translates as The glare of the sun ( the wounded Morgenstern). Doesn't sound anywhere near the English translation we have.

Closest English to French one, out of six, would be L'étoile de tir blesse le soleil prolongé = The shooting star hurts prolonged sun.

But, as shown in my initial post - official translation of Miro's assigned name of Personages et chiens devant le soleil. is Boy and dog in the sun? I personally would translate it as People and dogs under the sun.

Who knows what Miro originally named the picture in question? It's a task I undertake every so often. Especially when a fellow collector or dealer says they cannot find a viable source of info. It is not a daily endeavor. Sotheby's said they don't know and Christie's didn't respond.
