My mom thought this glass object with a glass cylinder is used to make coffee. Then, later she recanted it. The diameter of the cylinder is 3/8" and the height is 4 3/4". The base diameter is 4 3/8". The cylinder and base height is 6". I would like to know what it is used for and what it is called. Thank you for assistance in this request. Rob

Those sell well on their own as replacement pieces if you can figure out which coffee pot it goes to. Look closely and see if it might have a number on it.

I think I saw something tiny on it. I will have to get my magnify glass out to read it. Yes, I will definitely do my research on which coffee pot it goes to, too. When I find it, I will take a picture and post it here. It maybe a while before I get to it since I do not know which box it is in or when I will come across the coffee pots. Rob

I wonder if the coffee pot it goes to has an electric cord or just heats up on the stove or comes in its own coffee pot stand system? That may help me to rule in or out certain coffee pots. Rob

The stem will go to a stove top pot, not electric.
