Starborn sterling ring, what kind of stone?

Any idea what to call this stone? I found the company online, but didn't see similar. Thanks.

I think it is a blue sapphire but for the life of me I can not remember what the cut is called.

Looks like a checkerboard cut lab-created sapphire

 

Forgot one thing...I should have mentioned in the initial post.

The setting is fully open in the back, if I hold it up to the light and view it through the back, it has a clear look with bit of a pink tint. The stone has a bit of color changing quality, not dramatic like a alexandrite, but depending on the light you are in it will look more or less blue.

With that info too, does lab sapphire fit?

Yes a lab sapphire fits for that. You can search color change lab sapphire on eBay anc=d see a lot for comparison.

This ring is probably by Starborn Creations of Sedona, Arizona. Here are similar rings by them with faceted cut stones in similar settings, but with hammered bands.

I'd have jumped on that too. If you sell it, don't be too surprised if it ends up in Russia or China. Women in those countries love big rocks.
