Hello. Please could anyone help in identifying this? My late Mother in Law always said it was worth a lot of money! I've googled but can't find anything relating to Court Ware at all! (I maybe didn't look hard enough) If its worthless then I can pop it in the next charity box but I feel I should try to find something out about it! I did intend visiting a local antique shop and asking them, but I don't have a car and the nearest one is a few miles away. I am not to be trusted on the bus/bicycle/on foot with anything breakable! Thank you in advance. Would it rather be a covered serving dish? I thought a tureen would have a ladle and a slit in the lid for it, just wondering :)

We do call them tureens if they're serving dishes, too. A soup tureen would have a slit and ladle. A vegetable tureen would just be lidded.

Helen, it's very pretty but not of much worth in the UK, sadly. If you've no space for it, then a charity shop.

Thank you everyone! At least the nightmares where I break it into smithereens, then find out its worth a fortune, might stop! :)
