    I'm Michelle, nice to meet you all :) I'm here to find out some information on a sword I was given, otherwise I don't have enough money to do a whole lot of collecting.
    I LOVE historic things, especially if there is a story behind it. Everything has a story and I go nuts trying to figure them out!
    As my about me section states, I love steam engines and swords, fish and greyhounds. I live in Tucson, AZ though I'm hoping to move back to my home state of Missouri before next year is up.
    Anyway that's me in as few words as I can muster! Thanks for having this forum :)

    A FEMALE Train nut? At 24!!!! :wideyed::eek::woot::singing:
    I'm stunned and lifted right up this morning to know there are such people!!! :)
    I don't believe I have ever 'met' a woman who loves trains much less likes them at all! On Sunday I met a guy, a 'rail fan', who goes all over the country with other fans!
    I have always loved them too. I have all my trains from childhood and was recently given boxes of HO engines, cars, buildings and etc. by a fellow car club member. :) Here and there I pick up more.
    I used to go to the Lionel store in NYC anytime possible! :)
    I have a local friend who has the most amazing, huge, N gauge set up, right down to flying eagles, people IN buildings, etc...this is N gauge remember. :)
    I've visited the San Diego Model Railroad Museum numerous times.
    The whole town of Campo, CA was for sale at one time, The Pacific Southwest Railway Museum and all! Ah but for lack of $$$... :(
    I was in Chattanooga a few years ago and rode the Choo-Choo. They use a simple round 'house' to rotate the engine to return from the trip and that was cool! My ring tone is the Choo-Choo. :)
    Saw the 'Million Dollar' model train display there too.
    If you ever get out that way you must go to Stroudsburg, PA. You will be at that museum at least all day. WOW! :) Not too far from Missouri. :)
    OK.... Calming now............ ;)
    Everything has a story, I 'make' assemblage artwork because of just that fact. I like things with some wear and tear, it's much more interesting to me to wonder where the item has been and what has gone on around it and the 'housing' it all goes within and without as well. :) I join them into a whole new adventure story. :)
    Whew!!!! :)
    Welcome Michelle! :)
    Can't wait to hear more from you! :)

    @KingofThings
    If you have ever talked so much about yourself, I've missed it.

    Sacramento has a wonderful train museum in Old Town if you ever get this way.

    I love to travel by train. Been cross country 3 times back in the 80s. Took the train to Seattle. Then I got married. That was the end of train travel.

    I was raised by a die hard rail nut. If it had a choochoo anywhere near it, he liked it. He watched Mr Rogers Neighborhood after he retired to see the trolley.(LOL) N, HO, O, Standard, garden trains, live steam, even steam tractors. I picked some of it up while I stood around and breathed. Coal smoke is still one of my "I'm home" smells. As a kid, this female was never a rail fan, but the older I get the more I like them.

    Haha wow this is great! I haven't met so many train enthusiasts before :D
    I love them all, they are such amazing machines. I grew up with a model train set and I believe that's what started this whole love for trains.
    I went to the DOT Museum in Missouri and they have a lot of trains there, including one of the 'Big Boy' locomotives (My ultimate favorite. Watching the restoration of the one in Cheyenne closely!).
    Lionel is an amazing company, though my current model train is an MTH. When I moved to Arizona my parents wouldn't let me take the other train (for now hee hee) so I only have the one.
    I used to go to many model train shows with my grandfather and we would get old rail cars and trains to fix them up. Would spend days on it but it was so worth it :D
    I'm glad to meet so many nice people here :) Thanks for the warm welcome!
