The blue and green ones are translucent, call it 1.25 inches in diameter. They don't feel like bakelite and don't seem old enough either. Before I turn the lot into a necklace, I figured I'd find out what they are.

I will be watching this post, as I have a short string of them, and have always wondered just what they were for.
Mine are all different colors though.

    They look like acrylic

I would guess they were from Mah Jong

This one reminds me of a baby rattle / teething toy from the days before the toy safety rules.

Messi's set reminded me, too, of baby things. Circa 1950s?

So . . . I wonder if they (the disks) could be purchased at stores to make your own - and that would be what Evelyb has?
Mine certainly has a "home made" look to it.

Messi, I think sets like yours were actually sold that way, but I could be wrong. Some related memory from my childhood is trying to emerge, but keeps slipping away....

    Rats.
Evelyb, can you shoot a photo of just 1 or 2 of them?

Maybe we can find some like them on Google Image search.

Nothing to do with Mah Jongg, and not tiddlywinks, you need a full wink surface to tiddle them well, the hole would ruin that. I think they are just little plastic things with holes in them.

Mah Jong discs are either solid or squared in the center...

The square hole represents the old brass 'cash' coins, but I have had many old Mah Jongg sets and always with the bamboo strip money. Modern sets may differ, and I just haven't seen one.

Mother's set was in Bakelite with the metal coins......circa 1950's.

Or at least that's when I used to play with the set......so it may have been earlier...

I have some of those as well, came in a box lot. I just wish I had an ounce of crafty ability in me to make something with them but alas that is not the case. LOL
    :)

Of course if I knew what to call them, I could list them and sell them as supplies but so far I have no clue.

My hunch is the red/green/blue ones are
I'd call them something like "plastic disks with center hole" or "flat plastic donut pendants." Etsy would probably be a good place to sell them, in the vintage supplies or supplies category, depending on their age.
