Yellow Ware Funnel Strainer

    Picked up an old funnel/strainer type piece today. It measures 8 3/4 inches tall and 9 inches in diameter at the top. I was wondering about usage and age. The inside area where the holes are is somewhat domed/raised. Thanks for looking.

    Ohio...interesting.....looks like Ohio clay alright. Looks old too....circa at least last 1/4 19th.en. (?)...maybe as early as 1860 or so?

    Funnels are rare in early American yellow ware pottery.
    No special use, it just has a strainer...which IS a rare feature.

    I can say no more without having it in hand.
