From a client in his 70s, I've been given this jewelry box. So far, there does not appear to be anything precious in here. I've already sold the gentleman's gold pocket watches.

There are some single cuff links. And some odd stuff I am not sure about. Are these also cuff links?

Hmmm. I wonder why my second photo isn't working like the first one did...
Let me try a close-up of the little box, bottom left.

Okay. I guess I need help with showing more than one photo here!

Oh, I forgot to mention that the gentleman was my client's father.

First thing you do is get a metal coffee can & keep it somewhere so that when you get this type of stuff. Then you throw all the non-jewelry metal into the can. I am always amazed at how many screws & bullets I have found in jewelry boxes over the years. :jawdrop:
Anyway you just keep throwing stuff into the can until it gets filled & then take the whole thing to the recycling center. You won't get much for scrap steel but it is kept out of the landfill. :) (Getting off my soapbox now. ;))

Then you group all cufflinks together as a lot.
Here is a great site to help you describe the different varieties.

You may want to post that stuff in the 3rd cube on the right. That looks like some fraternity or other organization stuff.

In the large vertical left-side of the container, what is that blue box (or whatever it is) with wording on top which seems to say something like "Kujarit"?????

And what is that round, silver in color, pierced/filigreed item in the second box down on the right side? It looks like it "might" have a chain attached.

There are some shirt studs in the mix.

You're not showing us a very good picture of what you have.
The hexagons with black enamel are probably gold filled, 1930ish.

There are people who collect cuff links. I see one with what looks like a ruler? Grouping things like that together in a lot might be worthwhile.

The thing with the Greek letters looks like a fraternity pin or key. Probably gold filled, but possibly gold. What else is in that little area?

The Greek letters are Pi Lambda Sigma. There are a few different organizations with that designation, all having to do with college level professional preparation. One "management," another "library science" and a third "pre-law." The management one is associated with Gettysburg College and I know you're in PA, so maybe it's that one?

I appreciate that advice and link. Thank you.
I'm going to try to show another photo. I may have figured out what I did wrong. Any idea what this is?

Gosh, it's so great to see everyone here! These last two replies came in while I was writing the above.

Here's the stuff in the third cube.

I'm soon going to break for lunch. But I'll show more close-ups then. Thank you, thank you. Finding this site yesterday (through Silver) made my day.

Oh, that would be right, Bakers. Thank you! Do you suppose I should offer these items individually?

I have gotten good money for sets of the 1930s/'40s cufflinks, even if they were not sterling or gold. So, be sure to check the sets on eBay Completed before you lump them all together.
(I saw that box and just drooled. LOL)
Single cufflinks can be trickier, but they still usually sell.

The ones that are in two pieces are called Pull-A- Part or Cum-A-Part.
Many are even marked that way on the backs.
Good names to watch for are Hickok, and Krementz.
If any of the shirt studs are Krementz, check them very carefully, as some of those might be marked (in very teeny lettering) as gold.

Sorry to say, I have no idea about that, northern, since I don't sell.

It does seem to me that these may not all be from the same institution, even though they came to you from the same source. You probably need to check out whether this kind of stuff even sells for more than a pittance. Have you checked for markings yet?

What does it say on it?

Pic of stuff in 3rd cube -- bottom left is from Canada's centenary -- 1867-1967. That stylized maple leaf (representing 10 provinces and 2 territories) was the official logo. :)

    Messilane. Hi!

    It says Anson (PAT. PEND.)

LOL! I can see how it rather looks like one... Expo '67 was held in Montreal and there is a large Jewish community there; maybe they influenced the design! ;)

Kentworld! Wendy, right? I feel like I'm at a reunion.

Right you are. Here's the back. I read KEY OF THE CENTURY, but missed CANADA, in vertical letters.

Now for some more pics. Here's what's in the little box that's marked KUMAPART. Very pretty. Is there a KW to describe that motif?
And here's what's marked inside. I can make out all but the company name. Maybe someone here will recognize it. I'll show two pix.

    Oh, now I see it. Looks like B.&W. CO - PAT'D 1928.
Next I'll get to that interesting filigree piece.
