    Hi,
I have a shoebox of silver, mostly flatware, and need some help with the marks.
#1 are two small spoons/ladles, 3 3/4" long. They have hallmarks on the back but are missing the city. I think London 1829 by Thomas Jenkinson. I think London because that is the maker mark that fits but could be wrong. In the 3rd photo the initials are upside down but it looks like it has been stamped over another mark, so maybe the city mark?
    #2 I don't have a clue on, 4" in length. I thought it was 925 over letters but ...?
    Any ideas or information appreciated.
    thanks for looking.

At 4" they're probably demitasse spoons.

Let me throw out an idea on the English spoons. The O being 1829 - correct for London - would be after the 1822 switch from crowned to uncrowned leopard. And to make the leap from what little of the obscured mark is visible behind the T J maker, I'd say that was a crowned leopard before the maker was added over it. Maybe the incorrect leopard use was why they did that.

Thank-you Susan - you have great eyes! Sure looks like the correct mark, and the time period works.
That is a great site for marks, I'll have to bookmark it.

Good job, Susan! I hadn't even thought to get into the maker. And your photo enhancement skills are great!

I do wonder what that little punch with the letter Q? is all about. Anybody know?
