I believe this is a lady but I’m not even sure of that lol. It has a mate that I haven’t unpacked yet. The mate may shed light on things but I’m posting prematurely anyway.

I can’t see much detail in the crown mark. Maybe someone knows it? D9A0CDDC-36ED-48A8-A84D-96EC5A7E8295.jpeg AA9C1001-6BF6-40F7-BFD9-0F5C644E2895.jpeg

The eyes of children and baby animals are closer to the nose than an adult so yes child but in a rather provocative dress.

Clothing typical of era as children (of a certain class) were dressed as mini-adults.

That be them! Thanks much for the find. I was thinking German. Mine are really nice but not quite as nice as that first pair. Those are pretty impressive. Funny how “classic” subjects can be repeatedly made by different firms. I wonder if I’ll be able to identify my mark. The boys mark will hopefully offer a bit more detail.

I have spend the last week sorting through paper goods and books at my late mother's cabin(luckily next door) and low and behold look what I found- a version of your girl in color. Unfortunately bust.jpg that item was not actually in the book just the cover.

What coincidental timing!I saw a painted one when I was looking around. I believe it was part of an institutions collection or something.

That actually looks like the same mold as mine! The rest I’ve seen are all slightly different to quite a bit different. There’s no signature on mine. I unpacked the boy and his mark is equally lacking detail. Maybe they were made to be vague and blurry. They are definitely not cheap hatchet job modern copies. They are pretty nicely made but maybe the manufacturer didn’t have a recognized name.

    Bustelli worked at Nymphenburg.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz_Anton_Bustelli

That is not a Nyphenburg mark of which I am aware.

The signature I showed above was on a pair listed as "after" Bustelli, and it looks to me like that signature reads Pustelli. So it does seem the originals have been copied, and very closely.

This pair is quite close to mine but no cigar. The flower on my girls hair is the easiest way I’ve been able to look and tell them apart. It’s simple and has a hole in the top. Your first post is the only I’ve seen that looked the same. There does seem to be a lot of different copies out there. All quite good that I’ve seen but all a bit different.
