    Honestly, this spike is probably worth $2.2m. Hard to overstate the significance of the transcontinental railroad.

    it's priced at 2.2 mil, only cuz a few guys with 30 mill in cash really wanted it !!

    if it went on sale here......it may only have reached $3600........;)

    The Gold Spike 1869-I'd like an original photo. Taken 4 years after Gettysburg.PS-I'd also like to have that Champagne bottle.
