Featured Liddle lion fabric painting

hi folks, found this a charity shoppy yesterday for £1.50
i think he's quite charming
looks like hes painted on some kind of fabric
bit of a long shot, but anyone have an idea where he might have came from
any thoughts or ideas appreciated

 

Well the process looks like batik if that helps.

Yes, batik. And he's very sweet. (Not a very sympathetic mat though.) I'd think he was Mid-Century like this one (according to the seller.)

Definitely change the acidic mat and backing so you can keep enjoying him!

 

Yours immediately made me think of Clarence the cross-eyed lion, even though yours doesn't seem to actually have eyes.
