When it rains it pours! Just had this laying around, also bought at the same place as the "Rustic Jug". Ya think maybe I shouldn't have bought ANYTHING from that place? LMAO. Please take a quick look at this. Im going to haul it off tomorrow unless you tell me otherwise. As you might imagine, this type of item isn't really my forte. Thanks!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I like it... to me it looks more like a goose or a swan than a duck. What is the size?

It is signed, which might be a plus if you could identify the carver.

It looks fairly well-done, but is a decorator item only, not a collector decoy, unfortunately. The wood grain looks more like that of a tropical wood. My first impression, based on the shape of the head and the way the beak was done, was that it was Indonesian. The "signature" is a little odd, as well. May have been done by a hobby carver, but I even have doubts about that.

Sorry, it's not a decoy, but a decorative (factory made) carving, and probably meant to be a swan...
Something to give the ol' man-cave a touch of masculinity.:D
Cute, but little value there I'm afraid.
The signature is probably the last owners..

Well, thanks guys for the input. No worries here. Was a dollar. Better stick to what I know in the future, however. Seems like I get burned on "rustic" items.

Looks like K. King. I agree it's decorative. We have a lot of bird carvers around here and their work is kind of amazing.

    Hi davey,

I have just arrived here from the ruined eBay Discussion boards. I want to sincerely thank you and Peter for creating this site. It seems very user-friendly, and I can't wait to get started. I also notified my friend in NY (who got me started as a seller ten years ago) with a link to your site.

My first question. How do place my photo that represents my name, northernridge? (As in residing on a northern ridge of Blue Mountain. Chuckle.)

northernridge welcome! If you go to the top right corner of the page and hover over your name, there will be a pop up. Just select avatar and you can upload a photo there. (not Davey but hope it's ok I answer)

Thank you! I'm glad to be here, and happy to hear from you. That works. Except that now I can't find the photo (sigh). Oh well, it's time to cook some dinner. I'll try again tomorrow.
