toasted cinnamon and raisin in two halves, with clotted cream and jam please

 

My mum would like that version, but I'm not a cream and jam girl.

As with scones I'm very much of the cream on first, jam on top

The other way round is just wrong

The clotted cream and jam just seem to melt into it

 

I wonder what streaky bacon would do instead of the jam. (Treyf Two Ways as I call it, but I've hung out in Jewish circles too often and eaten too much Chinese takeaway.)

 

I have fresh Montreal bagels ...& lox and cream cheese W/ chives in the fridge.....
Supper tomorrow....with some asian pork dumplings.......
I find the capers too salty....but sweet Vidalia onion and tomato slices will be on hand !!!

or I can pick up Chinese, and save all that for the storm on Wednesday .....

In my neck of the woods, they top 'em with cheddar cheese and chopped roasted green chile.
The New Mexican green chile pepper is a revered food product in these parts.

 

Numex? Did someone say Numex? And I haven't had lunch yet...now I'm really hungry!

 

Ha! I think that particular pepper is way too hot!
The ones on bagels are NM Hatch green chile.
