Info please

Hi Anybody know anything about this artist it looks to me to say 1924

 

Perhaps the name is Y. Yamauchi? I see there is a current artist with that last name, but obviously not the same person. It does look like 1924.

 

Looks like Yamalichi to me, the possible U is not joined up as strokes in other letters are.

 

Yes, it could be. I tried that first, but it seemed less likely as a Japanese name, looking at the results I was getting.
