This is long at 33". Is it maybe unfinished? Hobbyist carver or indications of a First Nations artist?

My (total) guess about the fur is fox.

The head seems an eagle, and perhaps there's another animal in the other direction-- they look like seal flippers to me.

Anyway, I respectfully ask for the experts' help yet again!

Thanks. I did have that thought, but I've not been able to find anything else like it, so that makes it seem more like this is one random person's carving.

the fact that it's unsigned.....reasonably new, and doesn't present with the proper NWC formline.....leads me to speculate that it is not NA made.....but someone's idea of a ladle or paddle .....:wacky::wacky:

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Well, at 33", I don't think it's a POT ladle/stirrer, unless for a TRIBE!!! But, OTOH, it looks nicely done!!! OOOOOOH, maybe a paddle!!!

For a Potlatch, you'd need a pretty commodious vessel...I've got several in the 2 to 3 gallon range. The issue with a food stirrer is the Fox-fur, which wouldn't survive long in a kitchen environment.

Looks like a frozen lake, with Ice fisher-persons having to use tripods for the ginormous fishes. Then there's that runway for drones...I guess I'm still without clue, folks.
