Featured Amber bead necklace

hi folks

got some pics did of the amber necklace i bought at local auction (£15)
came in an interesting looking case as well

do we think real amber, or copal ?

some age, or fairly modern, smells vintage

its a good chunky size

what colour amber, cognac ?

not sure if the case is original to the necklace

any thoughts appreciated

 

Baltic amber chips, they look pressed as well. Cognac is fine.
The fancy case wouldn't be original, chip necklaces are on the cheaper end. Besides, there are indications that the original 'inhabitant' was something very different.

Pretty generic I think. It is a good case, but what for.....

 

god knows Aj, theres 2 slots in the bottom felt bridge, one straight and one at an angle
then one hole shaped slot in the top felt bridge with a brass swing clip to secure

 

Comb, brush and mirror.

Thanks ksw, I'm kinda happy it being low end Amber, as I might as well just keep it and wear it
( as I have been doing, even though my nieces and nephews have low and grabbing fingers )

 

I sold a very similar one on eBay recently for £25. It was just before Christmas so not an ideal time to sell but gives you an idea.

 

Yeah I'd rather keep it for that much, but gathered around that price

I found sales ok before Christmas, but at the moment on ebay, there's tumbleweeds rolling by

January never great after Christmas expenditure though, I can feel the sting of Christmas spending as well

 

Unless folks are spending Christmas money. I have some to spend..but on a new nightshirt, since I have more jewelry than I know what to do with anyway.

 

I bought my wife and sister in law perfume they both really love and wanted for Christmas gifts !!

Next time......I'm going to tear out the scratch and sniffs from some high end fashion magazines..........and present them as gifts .......so my CC doesn't burst into flames again !!!!!!!!

 

My theoretica SO would get off cheap in that regard. Too many scent allergies at church and I don't go anywhere else nice to wear perfume.
