Yes they did....in a kinda maybe perhaps could be way.

( "The design seems SO familiar to me so I'll stick with Mohican and add Algonquin...should anyone want to play along. :)..)

I'm more inclined towards Ojibwa, but as it's a tourist model not made to exacting standards , & I wasn't there to ask the native artist what they had in mind......I'm being somewhat general in my observation, while still trying to be factual .:)

Hi...hope this is not wrong on this board...I have tried to contact Messilane but either I'm not doing it correctly or?
I just wanted to say I am from Algonquin park area in Muskoka and my wifes grandfather was one of the original guide in Algonquin Park in the early 1900's so this has great sentimental value to us. Could you please let us know where it will be sold? thank you ..apologies..if I'm not supposed to ask things like this on the board.regards ruedi

Ruedi, I did answer you, but it was a few days after you asked because I never remember to check to see if there are any messages. :shame:

I haven't decided where I am going to sell yet, but I will, indeed, let everyone know when I do.

I canoed thru Algonquin Park in the mid 70's.....one one mile & a half portage I slipped in the mud and dropped my canoe on a small stump, piercing in and cracking a rib......the guide was not amused !
Oh....& the Skeeters were the size of butterflies !!!!

But that one portage ....I'll remember all my life.

A 2nd one , we had to walk the canoes thru a low marshy water table.
It was interesting.....but when we hit the shore , most of the guys were twitchin & shaken.......we pulled out cigarettes , lighters, and salt......those damn leeches got us good !!!!
Blood in the water !!!! Yee HA !!!!
