    This is known to be at least 100 years old. Any information will be great thanks.

    I believe that is an au gratin dish.
    Doubt seriously the 100 year old notion.

    Says Made in France. After 1921.
    Personally, I think long after 1921.

    My grandad is 80 and his grandma gave it his mum when she was born so it's 100% over 80 years but he said he had it for at least 20 too , any idea on its value?

    Sometimes the stories get transferred to the wrong items.
    Age does not equate to value.

    Again, I doubt this is 100 yrs old.

    So the eggs are actually part of the dish and not food?

    I wondered 'bout that when I looked at the photo... kind of thought it looked like it wasn't real eggs, but figured WDIK.

    Very good trompe l'oeil!

    I agree with you Mansons. Looks like a pool of butter that got all browned in the oven.

    Well shut my mouth.:jawdrop::eggface:
    I thought you had poached a couple of eggs and burned the butter.

    But is does say "Made in" which puts the date after 1921. And if the company shut the doors in 1933, that gives you a time frame.
