Featured Monet Egyptian Revival? Good deal?

I think I did something good today. What do you think?
It's about 16" and heavy.

Monet usually doesn't sell for much. That said I'd bet this is a King Tut Exhibit-inspired piece. With all that enamel it was well worth nabbing.

That is kinda fabulous. Lotus flower motif.

Not the same, and Trifari sells at a premium.

 

Pet peeve of mine... Sloppy listings, especially for $2,500+ costume jewelry items. "Tulip" necklace? "1960s" or "1970s"?

How not the same? Except, of course, for the makers mark? They look identical. Does this mean that Monet copied the Trifari design? Or did they both make a copy of whatever was in the museum exposition?

It's a gorgeous necklace and to think, only $9! *Sigh* I used to be able to wear a necklace like that before my neck started to look a little elderly, LOL!

Trifari became part of Monet in 1994. Wonder if it wasn't a reissue.

OMG I don't even wear much costume anymore but I'd wear that! I adore Egyptian collar pieces and that is extremely fun. Someone is really going to enjoy that.

 

Update!
I couldn't figure out how that Trifari one looked exactly like mine.
I took another look at the clasp and realized there was a second clasp.
Looked like an extension and that piece is stamped Monet.
The necklace is stamped Trifari.
How lucky is that lol.

Mystery solved!! I love it. Not surprising that the necklace was extended a bit, Those are always a bit tight when you're over 30 or so.

 

@bosko69 now that I know what it is I am going to ponder it overnight. Everyone knows I love a good bidding war also. So maybe just a low starting bid and hope for the best. I'm excited about it though!
