As posted on reddit's r/whatisthis thing:
"A family member saved this from being skipped, we thought it was a Jadinere but the holes around the edge are confusing. Weight is around 6 to 7 kilos. It's all wood the base seems to screw into the main trunk, the top is fixed. don't think there are any markings on it, under the top on the trunk there is what looks like a brass ring running around it."

Hi there @ExtremelyMild and Welcome to Antiquers!

Please return to edit your post to "Full size" instead of "Thumbnail" so we can all see it without having to click on it. When you get more photos, please post them Full size too, as members here will need more detailed photos to accurately identify this. (Unless we just happen to have a surprise by a member who already knows of course.) But we can generally, collectively, figure out a lot about any piece.

I'm sorry but I don't have time to read reddit threads. Any information you may have gleaned from reddit, please post it here first.

Thank you Matahari, but as above,
I'm sorry but I don't have time to read reddit threads. Any information you may have gleaned from reddit, please post it here first.

OP, Apologies but even if I had time, I have no desire to jump back and forth to look for new reddit thread posts and return here to discuss it. If you want to reference reddit posts, please copy and past relevant posts here so we can all learn about your piece.

My guess is ice-bucket/wine-cooler. There may have been a glass or tin liner for the center well with room enough for a bottle and ice, and glasses in the holes around the rim.

I think the ice bucket/cooler's the most likely.
